Depends on what you mean by fall asleep. If you mean lying in bed trying to sleep -- fourish hours. How many hours until I slept again? Like 48 hrs

During my worst periods of insomnia, several days. 🙃 On a typical night, maybe 1-3 hours.

3 days (which is the norm for me).. yeah I suffer from severe insomnia. 35 minutes is nothing to me.

If I'm having intrusive thoughts I can go staying up for 24 hours easy. If it gets any worse for anyone it would be a good idea to bring it up with a doctor. Melatonin and a warm drink is helpful to fall asleep to. It doesn't help that we can so easily grab our phone and be on that all night long it just keeps the mind more active.

Normally I wake up after having 4 hours of sleep so I either get up and stay up until I am tired then go back to sleep, this pattern of sleep goes back to my army days in the '70s when on a 5 months tour of Northern Ireland where our work pattern consisted of 9 hours patrols or guard duties then a 4-hour break for sleep, washing and eats, this pattern is still in me as a body alarm clock and it has never changed since then.

I work shift work, and we switch from days to nights every 4 weeks. I have definitely struggled for hours.

Like sleepless for three days until I got the pain under control. Any light at the end of the tunnel for you? There’s no cure for psoriatic arthritis. Meds work for a while but then they have to switch me to something else when it stops working or I start to react to it. Right now, I’m in the middle of a huge flare that’s caused fluid in my knee and severe rib tendon insertion pain and shoulder pain. They drained 77ml of fluid from my knee a couple of weeks ago, but it’s come back. A large portion of people with psoriatic arthritis end up in wheelchairs because they can’t afford their medication in their later years. My copay for my current med is $800/month but thankfully the pharmaceutical company has a copay assistance plan, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to afford it.

It's 2:44AM and that's early for me... got to be at work in 5 hours... sleeping is something that I just haven't mastered yet. During the weekends and on vacation I can sleep after minutes during the week it takes several attempts and even then it can take hours. When I was a kid, I slept like a rose, dreamt of flying, conquering the world, slaying dragons and had a lot of adventures I could remember in the morning... that hasn't happend for me in over 40 years though. I wish I could remember my dreams again, waking up and remembering what was playing around in my head just before waking up.
I think most of us worry too much to be able to just fall asleep in the evening/night...
