Mobile view editing

I'm fairly new to the admin side of proboards and was wondering if there was a way to edit or keep my site from turning to default icons when looking at it via mobile.

Hi Rohan Divial and welcome to the coding area of ProBoards Support.

For now it is not possible to edit the mobile version of the site, (along with not being able to change the icons). Once V6 is released, (No date has been given for release as yet) then the custom icons will show up in mobile view.

If you scroll down on the bottom right of the page in mobile you can hit "desktop" to view the regular version of the site on mobile

although this looks closer some things are still different. Such as some images are altered and some of the posts show up differently (such as different colors, formating, etc)

So for clarity: the mobile view is a completely separate view from the desktop view and we're unable to change anything about it except colours -- which colours are impacted can be found in Admin > Themes > Theme Manager. Hover over the theme you want to edit and there should be a "Colours" button. Any changes made on the subsequent page will be reflected in the mobile view. Unfortunately, this does mean that images will not update.

Switching to Desktop View whilst on mobile will be a suboptimal experience at this point in time because v5 is simply not optimised to be responsive. You're going to get the desktop view but on the cramped mobile screen which means formatting, etc will look different. Since you didn't provide a link to your forum I can't tell you exactly why specific issues are occurring.

In the future, when v6 is released, themes will respond natively to each user's viewport (so mobile users will see an automatically optimised mobile view that is not dissimilar from the desktop view) to make the switch between devices more similar. Unfortunately a) there's no ETA on v6's release at this time; and b) it is not something that can be accomplished on v5 without a significant amount of work.
