What is YOUR Favorite thing About ProBoard Forums

I created my forum in 2003. There were a lot of choices for free forum services. At the time, I primarily chose ProBoards because of its name. It sounded slick and professional. Over time, I appreciated the people, the support, the ability to make meaningful connections outside of typical social media, and because I was "older" and grew up with forums. I knew I'd always prefer forums over any other way to connect online.

I like the support forum. Its so interactive and friendly.. Makes feel more stable and at home.

Like Bigballofyarn, I have created forums since at least 2003 (ProBoards was launched on 1. January 2000 - how time flies), and at some point I have even been "Part of the Furniture" here. But I have taken time off every now and then, and closed down my forums and my account here as well, so I always look like a newbie. LOL

Anyway... Many years ago, I tried out other forum providers as well, but they never came close to what ProBoards is offering.

I haven’t had a forum of my own for many years now as I have no use for one (I actually do but all the people who would be members prefer to run the group through Facebook) but when I did, rather than being one particular feature, it was the fact that you could do so much with it for free.

The customization. Getting used to Version 5 after having Version 4 for so long took some getting used to, but once I figured it out it was as easy as ever. I still use ProBoards as a service whenever I make a new forum and I know the layout so well that the thought of using a different service and having to learn a new layout is just not appealing to me. I'm a creature of habit.

1) I love that it’s free. I think it’s amazing that Proboards offers this service for free.

2) I love the support community. Whether I’m needing assistance with technical help or just want to chitchat I love this community.
