Making a background image for content areas?

That said, can you elaborate what you mean by "making" a background image, as well as defining what you're considering a "content area"?

Sorry about that.
What I mean by content area is where my catagories for topics are. Right now it’s grey I would to make it transparent to see the background image.

Sorry, I'm not totally sure we are on the same page with terminology, so just some clarifications:

Forum structure is generally is as follows:
- Forum > Categories > Boards > Topics/Threads > Posts

Are you referring to the containers for the category titles, or the board containers, or the thread list, or the post list?
