Yours, someone else's, success stories, failures, wish lists , favorite plants, most troublesome invaders, gardens or plants in films and music , cartoons ... Pretty much whatever ! The Will O'Berry garden is finishing up and all but the acorn squash has been harvested ... pretty good crop of all and sundry but the deer and racoons got more of the sweet corn than I did ... again ! It's probably time to take the box of left over seeds off of the kitchen counter and put them away. Flower beds right now are predominantly these self care flowers , which is cool !

I guess this thread is closed for the winter after its inauspicious start ... unless some in more southerly climes chime in.

I wish I could contribute to this thread. Unfortunately I do not have a natural green thumb. I have yet to succeed at growing flowers. I managed not to kill my Dracaena trifasciata plant yet. (It's been a month in my care) Wish me luck!

Snake plants are nearly impossible to kill off but best of luck anyway as for contributing, you did ! as the intro said: "Yours, someone else's, success stories, failures, wish lists , favorite plants, most troublesome invaders, gardens or plants in films and music , cartoons ... I have given up on live plants even in the sunroom ...other than a very old cactus.... and have vases of silk flowers bought for like 75% off at end of season change over at Michael's and Hobby Lobby all over the house.

I guess this thread is closed for the winter after its inauspicious start ... unless some in more southerly climes chime in. For some reason, I missed this thread! I finally got a garden to grow this year in some raised beds in our side yard. We have pine trees, so mostly shade, which isn't good for a veggie garden, but the side yard has a wee bit of sun. My Mexibell peppers took off and are still producing today! I harvested some a week ago, along with the last of my green onions. We had a nice bunch of pumpkin vines and flowers, but never got any actual pumpkins. My tomatoes got harmed by a heat wave (110F), but for some reason they look amazing right now, haha. We should be getting a freeze soon, as it does get very cold in the high desert in January.

wildmavenWow ! Congrats on the peppers ! I gave up on them because all I got was ping pong ball sized ones with bugs. The farmer's markets have really nice ones for 3/ $1 and I buy 6 BIG ones each year to cut up for pizza additions which is more than enough. I have seen "city folks" with tubs that roll around to catch the sun during the day that produce lots of veggies.

The only thing I had to watch for was sun scald.
