New Post Thread Icons (not the text)

So there seem to be "new post" icon options for the boards, but threads only get a little "new" sticker pasted in front of the thread title. Could there be a plugin to make it so that threads get an icon change for new posts, instead?

It sounds like you can accomplish this via pure CSS by using the code posted here. Simply replace the convenient image employed in that example with the image you wish to use.
