Weird food combinations that you like?

Just a dab of salt with bread once in a while has been another weird combination. I have also been known to just make noodles with butter once in an every great while.

It's not about me. But my nephew eats Ramen Noodles with Ketchup. I really feel it gross.

Helped a boat neighbour out earlier when she was struggling in the bad weather.

As a thankyou she made me dinner. Very original vegetarian recipe. Quorn sausage, mushroom and tomato curry. Weird but very tasty. I'll be copying and eating that again.

I guess I don't really have any. Maybe...cream cheese on crackers? Which really isn't even that weird. Though, when my job sent me to Philadelphia for a month and I was sharing lunch with some local coworkers, we went to get a cheesesteak from Dalessandro's and I asked for mayo/mustard on mine. It garnered some cocked heads and whispers. Lol

My latest fancy.

Steamed savoy cabbage with pears and/or apple. Mix in some bits of cured bacon, onions, red chillies and ground coriander, fried in salted butter. Add black pepper and a salt to taste.

I'm sure some famous chefs have created the same recipe but it was all I had in the kitchen one night.

It's now a bit of a favorite.

I had some French dressing with chicken the other day. Normally, people use Creamy Italian to coat it when they make chicken in that manner, but French was all I had & I didn't want to go to the store just for dressing. Turned out pretty good, I thought.

Had to resurrect this thread for todays culinary masterpiece. Working with an old friend raising a sunken narrowboat, I'd forgotten how weird his food was. He invented tinned pea & baked bean curry???

Start with a cheese salad wrap. Flatbread, mayonnaise, lettuce, olives and mature cheddar. All fine but then it went weird. Add a shredded omelette, some chopped pickled onions and gurkins, those little cocktail sausages and add hot chilli sauce.

Surprisingly good. Although I could have done without the mug FULL of whiskey at 6.30 am.

Pickle sandwich: Dill pickles with Hellman's mayo.

Mine sounds so mild compared to everyone else's.  lol

That's actually really good especially if you add some green onions.

Apparently, people think I'm odd for thinking it's fine to mix foods and sweets.

Bacon on ice cream sounds appealing.

Hot dogs on a cake sounds appealing.

These types of mixtures are fine to me and I'd try them all.
