When you reorganize

A few months ago I moved stuff around in my kitchen area, cleaned up drawers tried organizing it a bit better moved my silverware in different dwars etc... Come like six months later my brain is still telling me to open the drawer I previously had them in. So annoying and weird I'm like oh yeah it's over there everytime I get a fork or something now. Anyone else deal with this. :'D

When I reorganize, I have to put the items somewhere else entirely and kind of make a mess there before I decide where the items will go next. Some peole think I will just make a mess in the temporary area, lol. 😝

If I am the person that reorganizes, I am usually fine with finding it the next time.

If I'm on autopilot I'll sometimes do this, but it doesn't usually last long even when I do a pretty significant reorganization. I don't have a whole lot of stuff and what I do have is pretty well organized already, so maybe that helps.

I don't re-organize anything anymore. It's all about my muscle memory As a matter of fact, I'm right-handed, my husband is a leftie. I've had to explain to him do NOT put the sharp knives in the drawers to his comfort. The kitchen is my domain, and I don't even look when I'm grabbing something, so if he puts the knife away the "wrong" way, I would probably cut the poop out of myself.

As above, despite living in four different places I've got my personal ergonomics nailed. Not changing it for change sake.

As for forgetting why I've gone into a room, not yet. But I do get distracted. Usually goes something like;

Sofa. I fancy a cup of tea.
Kitchen. Put the kettle on.
Kitchen. I'll put away that washing-up.
Kitchen. And wipe the counters down.
Kitchen. Put out the recycling. Must remember to fill that form in for the new bin.
Sofa. S#!t, I forgot the tea.

I don't usually reorganize things to like completely new places...i just reorganized my linen closet for example, but maybe it was more of cleaning/organizing (sans 're' haha) since i had hand towels shoved around with beach towels and bedsheets and whatnot. I do reorganize my fridge/spice cabinet/pantry quite a bit though especially after a dispensary visit

I just reorganized my craft room and it feels soooooo good. I'm not sure how long that'll last, though, haha! I do look for things where they used to be.
