I'm getting the new M1 MBP 2021 in just a few days. (Cheaper on Amazon for the 1TB than on Apple's Website, and 1 month sooner than Apple. 3 days, vs March 20th.) I want to know if there is any benefit to running Windows on it, and I think I heard parallels was good? The only thing I'd probably use for Windows would be some games that do not work on Mac from Steam or Epic. Otherwise, it'd be mostly for business/on the go, or mainly so I just don't have to get up to my desktop to edit videos/photo's, while wanting to be lazy in bed for a bit. lol. I also needed to replace my Mid 2009 MBP anyways. It still runs like a beast, but well dated and only on El Capitan with 4GB ram, and an old Nvidia card.
I also should have probably waited until the M2 Macs were released. But the M1 exceeds my expectations by 10 miles, especially editing in 1080p and under. Watching videos on it, and someone rendered out a 15 minute 8K res, with the highest bitrate for 8K in just an hour with the lowest specs possible on the 2020 m1 mac air. But, back to my original question.
Would I benefit for running a VM windows on it aside from Gaming? If anything. I'd want windows to be seamless. Which if I can remember, parallels did exactly that.
Now I could probably just have Googled, or YouTube'd my question. But I want personal experience/opinions on it. (Most games I'd be playing for fun time is already on Mac. Like Minecraft, pretty much all I really play, aside from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.)
To those that do have the new M1, how is After Effects (Or equivalent) My Desktop, despite being a Ryzen 9, 3900x 12 core cpu, and a 1070 (I'd rather get a Mac before spending 2000 on a 400 dollar 30 series graphics card.)
Macs specs is a 1TB HDD, 16GB RAM, and the M1 processor of course.

I have a Mac Mini with the M1 and it’s been great. Certainly the best Mac I’ve ever owned. It didn’t take long for devs to update the software I use to run natively on the M1 chip, and for the ones that are still Intel native run pretty well. Certainly a good time to jump in on the Mac for sure, congrats on the MacBook
As far as Windows goes, there’s not really a point at the moment. Boot Camp doesn’t exist on the M1 Macs, and Parallels will only run the ARM version of Windows, so a lot of your games and Windows software likely can’t even be installed at the moment. This will likely improve with time, but today it’s not worth it IMO.

Editing videos for clients, photos, even playing Minecraft, I'm blown away! Most people say to get the 32GB. 16GB hasn't given me any issues. Honestly, going back to my OP. This feels far more powerful than my desktop. I can scrub through the timeline in premiere pro with no issues, even added Adobe graphics/transitions Unlike my desktop. Of course, the 1070 TI was released in '17. But Minecraft's FPS is closely matched to my desktop. Though in most cases I can get 200FPS, but I get around 160. So not to bad! That's with Optifine installed that helps with graphics processing. Yeah, I found that out right away about Bootcamp. lol. I can go play on my desktop if I want to play any windows games. Probably would play better anyways since most games I play have intense graphics anyways. So, not really to worried about it now. But I'm glad I got this laptop, its so smooth running, mainly using it for business, but leisure is definitely getting its time. lol.
I should also note the battery life. Currently at 73%, and I've been on it for 8 hours now. THAT is impressive!
