Most of us weren't even born yet considering that today marks the 110th anniversary of the sinking of the titanic, as most of us have learned so much from it from the film as I did in school I've always been super interested in the history. On the night of April 14th 1912 titanic was struck by an ice berg killing over 1,500 passengers with only nearly 700 survivers. My favorite story of a passenger being known as an alcoholic on board but the warmth of the alcohol saved him from freezing to death. nationalpost.com/news/canada/charles-joughin-titanic-anniversary-april-15-drunkWhite Star line also had two sister ships to titanic the britanic and Olympic. The ship today is sadly being ate away by the sea with estimate of it being completely gone by 2050 with only the engine and perpellers being left. The legend of the sinking will forever be told.

One of my favorite stories is how the Olympic never set sail because no sailors would take it on. The passengers offered to learn and do the work, but were rebuffed.
If you have never seen the traveling TITANIC exhibit, it's worth it.

Jim and I have been enjoying a different look at the Titanic, from the perspective of the food. There's a YouTube channel that's been doing a bunch of episodes for it: www.youtube.com/c/TastingHistoryThis is the most recent episode: HoudiniDerek , I saw the Titanic exhibit years ago. I loved how you got a ticket representing a real passenger on the ship and at the end you found out if that person survived. It really drove it home.

Marian, I LOVED that exhibit!
The iceberg with the handprints was incredible.
Did you survive? My wife got to be a very rich socialite, so she survived.
I was the only Japanese passenger on board and survived somehow too. But when I returned to Japan, I was shunned, so I ended up committing suicide. It was interesting to learn about the passengers because you only ever really hear about one or two.
The food idea sounds cool!
