I was reading this interesting article about how the ongoing electronic chip shortage is now expected to last until 2024 and I am curious if anyone else was able to get one of the new consoles or GPUs despite things going kind of crazy? I was lucky enough to get all 3 consoles over the past 3 years faily reasily all things considered.. I got the PS5 day one and the Switch OLED about a week or two after launch. The Series X took longer but after winning $500 on an online giveaway I was able to get a Gamestop bundle.
I am not much of a PC gamer but with the current market I would not even try. Also as a side note I did search to see if another thread like this was here but nothing came up. In the event I did miss a similar thread I will feel awful and I do apologize in advance if that happens.

I think the stock exchange is slightly going up, you can find GeForce cards on Amazon now priced pretty fairly, it wasn't that long ago people were paying scalpers triple the amount for computer components. A series X is easier to find due to better international trading where as a PS5 isn't made in America and Japan has to sort products then make sure they get here safely on cargo ships. I don't mean that Xbox is particularly produced in the united states' however I believe they have better sources to make sure things are stocked better other than the fact Microsoft has waves and waves of different models where as Sony just has the one for now. Pun intended. Nintendo on the other can't say for sure other than the fact they ordered millions of units to be widely available and it's cheaper to produce a switch obviously.
But yes I do think things are starting to go back up regardless of oil rates and transport issues as well as the virus or current war going whatever the case maybe.

As for the question in the OP:
We have a PS5. only 1 though, I was able to get a hold of a Mac Book Pro M1 2021 easier than any GPU, at the time, it was 2800 for a 2060ti. So, I said screw it, and got this laptop. Which is beyond beautiful.
We just have the normal switches, I got mine a long time ago, and then we got another for christmas for my wife, so we could play animal crossing and other games together, wasn't even that expensive. 250 for it new on Amazon.
Though I did get an the Ryzen 9 3900x at 400 dollars, and the motherboard for 250. Ram at 50 bucks for 2 of them, so 100 dollars for 32GB. The case for 300 dollars, it's all glass, and a full sized tower.
But yeah, I haven't needed nor wanted to get a graphics card for my desktop since getting this mac book.
