I forgot what sound drive was working and installed on my hp laptop and I forgot what my sound drive was connected too when it worked.

I haven't dabbled with Windows 11 much, but I imagine some things remained the same. To note, if you're not comfortable with doing any of the suggestions, please don't do them. There's a couple of things you can do:

1. Hit the Start button and type Device Manager. When Device Manager shows up, see if there's an exclamation point over Sound, video and game controllers. If there is, expand it, right click on the device with the exclamation point and see if you have options to update or install the driver. If there is no exclamation point over any of the categories, right click on Sound, video and game controllers and click on Scan for hardware changes. An exclamation point may show up after that. If there is still none after scanning for hardware changes, move on to the next step.

2. HP has a Support page where you can download its detection tool. This tool will detect your product and any drivers/software associated with it. The page is here: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops. Barring using the software, you can enter your serial number into the field on that page and it will do the same thing.
