So what's the big thing lately? Have things changed?

It's been YEARS since I've role played. When I was leaving, before the pandemic, things had unfortunately died dramatically. I hope during the pandemic, with all of the free time most people had, that this world has bulked back up. But I have some questions...

Like, did it come back to life? Or is it still pretty dead?
Has anything changed like the style of role playing/writing?
Are more people focused on quick & easy posts or still lots of 300+ word counts?
Just: anything I need to know?

I'm already gonna start building a site, but I've got MANY other ideas for MANY other genres. I wanna make a 2nd site soon or even immediately if, and ONLY IF, I can find someone to help build it (SEE SIGNATURE).

I'm into MANY genres, so there's a good chance I'm into something you're into! So let me know what you like to role play & I'll send over brief plot ideas for everything I'd be down to build that fits your style! Okay with changing some things in each mini plot I send you too!

You DON'T have to be staff! Even if you can just help with ideas, double checking stuff to make sure I didn't miss anything or say anything in a weird way, writing up stuff from time to time (like helping me write up rules, advertisements, etc.), and the most important thing: helping me advertise once opened, that would be enough!
But would love Moderators immediately!! Possibly a Co-Admin too, depending on our styles, if our ideas click good enough, what you're able to offer, etc.
So let me know if you're interested & in what way!

I picked Anime + Canon Based, but I really wanted to pick both non-realistic humans + other as well.

To me, "anime" isn't a genre of RP any more than "literature" is a genre of book. Anime is a specific art style, and any RPs based on an anime would simply be "canon based" should you create an RP for it (there are even canon-based RPs based on anime shows that require IRL face claims).

Anyway, that aside, genre wise I prefer either high fantasy (elves and magic and dragons etc) or canon-based, usually both. I'm a big fan of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dragon Age, Avatar the Last Airbender, etc. Most of the time I make these require animanga face claims, if I'm the one running things.

As far as what i've seen popular lately: there's a definite lean to animanga styled sites (regardless of topic/genre), RL Slice of Life, and fantasy/urban fantasy type forums. Animal RPs are less popular lately, but there are a few that have stuck around long-term. Harry Potter continues to be super popular, as well. If you peep the threads in the RP Advert board [here] you can get a better idea of what folks are into lately.

That said, I'm not interested in being a member of staff, thanks! I have my hands full with my own RPs :)
