Sketching

I enjoy sketching my nature sightings. Some sketches are fast, others take more time, but I have fun doing it. If I don’t put rules on myself, I am more apt to actually do it. Here are some of my pages. I used to use colored pencils, but find they break out in the field, so I’ve settled on different colored pens.

Those are good!

I have never been able to draw pretty much anything even close to being photorealistic... my sketches were mainly of random monsters. Once I color anything with colored pencils it tends to ruin the drawing. I guess I'm not good with that part at all lol

I'm envious of artists who use colored pencils and you almost can't even tell that's what they used... it's the reason I had bought myself a set of like 50+ like 10+ years ago, and I did not have a knack for it xD

I doodle, but nothing good. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.

I drew a pretty decent picture once...probably when I was around 14. I have never been able to replicate it. Or find it.

You produce such beautiful artwork and photography. I wish I had such talents, especially on occasions like birthdays, weddings and anniversaries,etc. when Personally made gifts would say so much.
Alas, I don’t have an artistic bone in my body.☹️

These are beautiful! I love seeing your drawings and photos.

A few months ago, I picked up a few Tombow brush pens from the craft store and was immediately enamored. "Accidentally" ended up buying the full 180 ct set. They're really fun for hand-lettering, but also for coloring.

I drew and colored this first:



Unsatisfied with the lines from shaky hands. Did it again with better results:



Now I'm deciding what to make next.

That sucks that you can't find it. I was surprised when I was going through my things to find the above drawing of a bighorn from when I was 13!

Awww, thanks! I disagree about you not having an artistic bone. Your photography is excellent.

I only ever remember drawing it because it was for a story I was writing. I was determined to draw something. And I did. And it was pretty good. But I have never been able to find or recreate it.
