Favorite berries

I've been an addict for strawberries with honey and whipped cream lately how about you?

I can just never seem to get into berries. I have tried them all and they all taste bleh to me.

I can have them all together in something like a fruit punch or berry blast drink, but not solo it appears.

I love salmon berries, raspberries, and blueberries, put them altogether in a huge bowl and you got yourself a yummy snack.

When we lived in Belfair, WA, we had a number of Blackberry bushes on our propery. Very tasty, and Marian baked lots of goodies with them.

Did you know that strawberries aren't actually berries, but that avocados ARE technically berries? What is the world coming to?

Fun fact: Bananas are also berries.  

I've tried many a berry, but bananas (I guess) and blueberries are the only ones I've been able to stick with. Strawberries are too sour for me, blackberries (which apparently aren't berries either?) are good but a little too tart, and raspberries have failed to make much of an impression on me. But I could eat blueberries all day long.

I think it depends when you get the strawberries and where you live. They're sour here in NJ in the winter. In the summer, they're super sweet. I've never had a sweet raspberry though. After I realized bananas taste the best when they look close to the worst on the outside, I've never been disappointed.

Phloem sounds like way too much fun to say. I will incorporate this fun fact into random conversations.

I love raspberry jam, I also love a good blackberry dessert.

Strawberries are awesome by themselves or with champagne.

Blueberries are the only true blue food I can think of off hand!

Vanilla ice cream with any berries is great!

I think a change to the definition is in order here!

New proposal: If a fruit has "berry" in its name, it's a berry. Otherwise, it isn't.

Unfortunately this may lead to efforts to have certain fruits renamed: bananas will become bananaberries, pumpkins will become pumpkinberries, cucumbers will become cucumberries, etc.

So Why Isn’t Grape Ice Cream a Thing?

There’s actually a very legitimate reason people rarely sell grape ice cream, but it has nothing to do with the bizarre rumor that the FDA banned it for making dogs sick.

Basically, grapes have high water content, which is why eating them is an easy way to stay hydrated. But it also means when you freeze them to make ice cream, they’ll turn into icy chunks. That’s all fine and dandy for an ice pop recipe, but not what anyone wants from a scoop of smooth ice cream. Plus, leaving the skins on would ruin the texture, but peeling grapes takes away most of their flavor, according to Why Do Pirates Love Parrots?: An Imponderables Book.
