Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but as it's not a tech support I will ask it here.
What are the rules about when a site that is advertised is archived? I looked around and can't find the rules/regs.
Thanks!

Thanks! By "archived" I assume you mean that it's in Maintenance Mode, removed from service, or otherwise indicated as closed? If so, there isn't a rule as such, but you can PM a mod or gmod here on support with a link to their advert thread in the advert board and they can decide what to do. If I recall, by and large threads aren't actively archived on a regular basis, but rather in batches whenever the mods determine it's necessary (I could be wrong on this part though). edit;; for future ref, Support Board related Q's are totally fine to be posted in the support board proper, or you can PM a mod or gmod directly (I generally don't recommend PMing a red name for day to day support forum modding Q's since they focus primarily on product support).

Hi Kammi!
I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. I mean when a person advertises their forum in the "advertise your forum" section and then a mod here at PB moves the ad into archives even when the forum is still active. Is there a time limit that if you don't bump your ad it gets moved into the archives section?
Thanks

Thanks Oh! I see, I see. I don't think there's a hard and fast rule about that either, so I'd reach out to a PB mod. I think wildmaven is the one that handles most of the advert board process :)

Right now, we have about a year and a half worth of ads still active. They will also be archived at the request of the person who started the thread, or if it is reported that the forum no longer exists. As Kami mentioned, there are no hard and fast rules regarding when an ad is archived, as it is at the discretion of the moderating staff. However, even if a thread is archived, it is still able to come up in a search. In addition, threads are removed if it is discovered that they now lead to a non-ProBoards forum or simply to a Discord account. To be honest, very few potential members for a forum are going to search back years through the threads, as most of the older advertised ones are no longer even active. If a forum admin wants members referred to their forum via the ads in the Advertising Board, it's recommended that they be an active participant and bump their thread occasionally.

I am just curious as I have a RP forum that was moved to archives and we are still open and active but I had not bumped in along time. So I would like to know is there a ballpark figure of how long you have without bumping before your ad is removed from the main RP board?

As I stated above, about a year and a half. So to be clear, active means the site itself needs to be open/active and there needs to be a bump made within that 18 month time period?

There needs to be a bump during that time for the advertising thread to not be archived. The moderating staff does not check if forums are still open/active.
