I need help in learning to make my own theme

My group is a fantasy group.  When I first came to ProBoards, I knew a little bit about making themes, and I do mean "a little."  I am NOT a coder and do not completely understand the coding world.  Even so, I did want to make my own themes.  The staff at PB suggested that I start with a simple, existing theme and modify it to suit my needs.  With their help, I created my first PB theme, Castle In The Sky.  It is still in use and a favorite of some.  That is what I would like to do again.  I don't want to use a theme made by someone else, and be limited to the changes I make.  I want to make my own and have one for every special season of the year, as I do now.  I am assuming we will be able to upload multiple themes, as we can do in V5.  

I like a theme that is easy on the eyes, has large, sometimes Bold font.  This is the first skin I ever designed to reflect the nature of this fantasy loving Castle (group).  

So, could someone tell me if they can transform this skin to V6 format?  And Kami, I would love your opinion on the best way to approach what I am trying to do.

Hey queenfoxy ! It's such a good idea to try and get ahead of the curve for v6.

However, we can't answer these questions yet! v6 is still in beta, which means that we don't know which parts will wind up being final and which parts still have room to change. That said, honestly, the setup you have will likely be super easy to convert once we have that information! A majority of these changes can be accomplished in the theme creator already (though the easy theme creator is still kind of iffy in the beta stage), and you can just use a couple lines of CSS to modify the font as needed.

I'd be happy to try a preliminary conversion on my v6 test forum, if you're willing to supply the colour codes you used + the images for the background, banner, and on/off icons. Once I test it out, I can give you the general gist of it (though of course, subject to change once v6 is final, just in case anything changes between now and the official release).

Thank you, Kami. I was really concerned about not being able to make my themes.  That is why I was so ready to jump in early and get started learning.  I know I don't have to be a coder to make cool and beautiful themes and to have the fantasy themes that fit the mood of the group.  I was really smitten with the PB Support Staff when I first came here.  They helped more than I could ever express.  I remember a lady called Tumbleweed who taught me how to make multilayer themes, like the ones I had made in another forum, before moving to ProBoards.   I will have to learn that again one day, too.  I have not seen Tumbleweed for a very long time.  

Kami, I thank you for the help you are offering, and I surely do appreciate it.  I will help you with the things you have asked for.  You have certainly set my mind at ease.  Glad I asked for your opinion.  I do understand that all we do now may not be what stands when v6 is finally rolled out, but whatever I have learned in the meantime will be mine to keep.  There will be no wasted time here.  Thank you, Kami.  You are appreciated.

Also, don't worry. The stuff you're wanting to do can be re-learned in v6 (and to be honest, even though it doesn't seem like it right now, it will be easier from here on out because PB is becoming more standardised with current coding)!
