Hi, this extension is available on phpBB but I can't find a plugin for proboards/freeforums... phpBB extension info: www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/imgur/The phpBB extension adds a button "i" icon alongside the "Insert Quote" Insert Smiley" "Insert Embed" etc buttons in the Post/Quote/Reply Editor... Clicking it takes you to your own HDD and you can navigate to "Pictures" folder etc... Click on an image and then click the select button and the image uploads (automatically) to Imgur and then posts the Imgur link to the editor inside [ img ] tags... Post reply and the image displays in the post... My forum has many older men and women who don't know how to upload to imgur directly, then copy paste the code themselves - so on another forum we installed the Imgur button and THEY LOVE IT... Migrating to freeforums soon and want to add this function for the members before we invite them... New to this so forgive me if I missed a plugin and point me to it - otherwise any help to create this would be awesome... |

I really can't tell what this is - But was about to ask the same question but if using postimages instead of Imgur... This is the phpBB description of their extension/plugin free to download: postimages.org/pluginsIt 's exactly the same function as I was talking about with Imgur - it allows a member to upload an image, from their hard drive, to the host (imgur/postimages), retrieves the link info and pastes it into the reply/quote editor inside BBC tags- all in one fell swoop... |

The plugin I'm requesting here is available to see in action at my other site - as a guest you'll only have posting ability to the Help desk, so that's the link... If you go to quote/new reply/ or new thread buttons, you'll be taken to the editor... Download the file. No need to unpack, its self contained. Navigate to admin > plugins > manage plugins. On that screen at the top left of the content under the menu you'll see an import button. Thanks - it shows up - should be working - but I see no button or link in the editor - I am really tired and probably overlooking something though... One of the links, at minimum, has a how-to guide. If all else fails, have you checked the plugin settings / physically enabled the plugin? |

I'm a typical "Bloke" have not read the manual - will do tomorrow - I did check the plugin management again, it has a green tick and is set for all themes and all users... |
