Falling images plugin - how do I make my own images?

I've tried, and have gotten them, but cannot, even when saving as .png files, create any with transparent backgrounds. They have all come out as squares with white backgrounds. 

I'd like to add some of my own images.

How are you 'saving as .png files'? Are you using an image editor to remove the background and then save as a .png, or just changing the filetype?

I've edited the images (basically removed backgrounds, and resized), then tried saving/exporting as .png files. I've also tried .tiff files, but they still add backgrounds. Most recently, I removed white backgrounds from the images, saved to flickr.com as .tiff files, uploaded and they show up with black backgrounds. Must be something flickr. does???

Any way, I don't understand why backgrounds keep showing.

Oops! So, I, DUH, just realized that flickr.com always saves as .jpg files. *sigh*

Yeah that was going to be my next question if you were properly editing the images.

Silly question, but have you considered just uploading to your ProBoards theme? It'll properly save as .png, doesn't have any bandwidth caps (though each theme has a file size limit of 10 MB), and you can grab the PB URL for that image to use in the plugin.

So, I just added the images to my smiles section. Saved as .pngs, of course. Now, I'm not sure how to get a URL for them. I'm kinda forum "designing" stupid.

You should have added them to the bottom of the images list — there's a dedicated section for custom images that aren't specifically part of the theme settings.

Once you upload them, there should be two buttons on the uploaded result; one of them says LINK. Click that, and a text box will appear that has a URL on it (it will look weird; this is OK).

Okay, got them in Custom Theme Images section. I clicked on the link and copied to the Falling Images Linked Images section. I get this error: Value must be a valid URL.

I uploaded those images from my computer. Does that make a difference? I don't know where to send them to an online hosting site - maybe Dropbox???

can you paste the URL here that you got from the theme? you may need to modify it just a smidge :)
