I want to add a banner to forum but no idea where to start. Could I make one using online tools or am I better off buying a custom made ban banner online? Seems plenty off sites offering this service.
What size banner?
Thought I'd ask before attempting and wasting my time getting it wrong, so any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks You could theoretically make a banner using online tools. Canva (phone app) or photopea.com are good starting points. Paying for a banner is generally a good idea if you're able to afford services at their listed price and if you are not comfortable with making your own. Ultimately, it's up to you. I made my own banners in the beginning because I couldn't afford to do anything else, and it wound up helping push me into the career I am in, so needless to say I am a big fan of that route :P As far as banner size, that's all relative to the size of your forum. If your forum is a static width of a specific amount of pixels, your banner should match that width. For height, I generally recommend at least 200px for static banners. If your forum is fluid in width (a %) it's a bit harder, so I recommend banners that are around 1000px but have transparent backgrounds and are designed in such a way you can't see the edges of the image. Then you can set the background of the banner container on your forum to be a specific colour, and it will look like one cohesive design. I hope this helps!
