Do some themes have more room for smileys than others?

Hello,

I work on several different themes, and some themes I run out of room for smilies but others I don't seem to run out of room even with the default smileys still on the menu. Is that because some themes have more room for them than others?

So, no. There is no such restriction on smileys/emojis specifically. That said, all themes have a maximum size of 10mb (each). Depending on what images you upload to the theme, and the individual file sizes of each image (including smilies) you can hit that 10mb limit on a theme faster than on another theme.
