Also, can you elaborate a little more on the purpose of this? Off the cuff from the current description I wouldn't advise doing this, but if you can elaborate on what your goals are it would help figure out if this is the right path to take.

So What I'm looking to do is give my site a view height so I can see both header and footer and the categories to scroll in between. that's my set goal.

Have you looked into the collapsible categories plug-in? or the tabbed categories template?

theoretically you could use some CSS to achieve this, how comfortable are you editing your CSS stylesheet?

Sorry for the huge delay in replying to this.

You could put the $[content] variable in a div with a forced scroll in it, but it would also apply to other places than the home page. If you want it JUST on the home page, you can do that too. Which do you prefer?
