Have you ever thought about making your own podcast?

What would you talk about?

If you have a podcast or done one in the past, what is/was it about?

Most of what I'm interested in and have knowledge about is already either covered in existing podcasts or would be of limited interest to the masses.

My cousin made one once. I listed a few times but it was boring. He just talked about sports with one of his friends. I don't think he does it anymore.

Could I do one? Nah, I don't like to talk that much.

When I worked at PB, we had an “hour of power” that we could use to brainstorm and work on things outside of our regular work duties. One of the ideas we had together on the support team was to do a podcast, talking about PB developments and news; we even recorded a mini episode as a pilot (I think it was myself, Michael, and David since we were in the same room together). Obviously it never came to be, but I’m pretty sure I have the audio recording on a backup drive somewhere

My significant other is fairly conservative while I'm fairly liberal. I think it'd be interesting if we started a podcast where we're forced to talk sensibly about today's stories and politics because at the end of the day we'd rather still be together than not. And if it got big enough we could each bring someone on from our side to create something like the old Crossfire from CNN but good.

Yeah, and I ran out of ideas and quit. lol. I may eventually start it back up, but it had to do with horror and haunted stuff, and I interviewed other Horror youtubers, but my interest ended up going other places. lol.

My whole approach to making things is "what's the gimmick?", so when I had a podcast the gimmick was that what you were listening to was the emails section of a longer, nonexistent gaming podcast. I would get emails from my friends and followers and answer them every week, and make implications about and references to our larger show... that didn't exist.

It went on for the better part of a year! I had a ton of fun making it, but just ran out of steam to keep it going.

Kind of where I am at. My brother wanted to start one but I just couldn't get into the idea.. lol I love listening though!

I am part of two podcasts, one of which I do entirely solo and the other is a co-owned affair. It's fun to do but takes a decent amount of work, especially when you're someone like me who hates terrible audio quality and is obsessive about making things absolutely perfect before uploading.

Apparently there is a huge Podcast Festival for people to learn more and hear from experts. This year it's in Toronto in September. Anyone go to it?
