We fixed our own Dryer...

Over the weekend, our dryer would automatically turn on by itself, and beep because the door was open. We decided that like our phones, or televisions, etc., maybe it just needed a reboot. Sure enough, after unplugging and letting it set for a day, it runs as good as new, who knew?!?! Anyway, has anyone else had something similar happen with gadgets or appliances?

Never ending in here and many a time the wife has said "John, the (whatever) is not working...?", her knight in shiny armour (me) will come to the rescue and fix whatever..........by a re-boot.

Many a time I could not sleep so made my way into the lounge early hours about 3 ish and then started up my laptop to just do some surfing and suddenly our tv will switch on by itself, I know I have not set it up to do that and its an up to date tv, but it just switches itself on.

I have said to the wife we have a friendly ghost in here that likes watching tv in the early hours, I think it must be one of the wife's deceased family just paying a visit, I have seen ghosts before in my life but not seen this one........yet

Given I bought a Samsung unit probably...I do enjoy refurbishing older game consoles, helped fixed a neighbors last year because the hard drive died inside safe to say I saved them a couple hundred.

I only have one window big enough to throw a dryer through and the cost of replacement would make me cry a little.

...plus I have to pass a door to get to it, so I'd just use the door lol

I have said that often to the wife and family and it was in here I did see what I thought was a ghost appear at the end of my bed many moons ago, at the time I was in bed and woke up and saw it for a few seconds which I then jumped out of bed and made my way into the lounge.

The wife was still up and I stuck my head around the door and said to Liz "You are watching some spooky show aren't you?" to which she replied "Yes" and then I told her what I had just seen and I went back to bed, I have never heard her move so fast, turned the tv off and rushed into bed.

I got up then and turned all the lights off she had left on, and this is god's honest truth, the figure (ghost) I saw looked like an old lady and I have always said it was one of the wife's aunt or mother that appeared.

I have an LG dryer that would continue running even after all the lights shut off. I don't recall if it would make its little "cycle is finished" sound or not, but one time, it was on all night long, just going round and round with all the clothes inside. Thank God it didn't burn up!! It wasn't even hot. Just going all night and not stopping. I Googled what to do, and the simplest thing was to do a reset. Who knew? My old washer/dryer wasn't so high-falootin', so I didn't know I could do a reset. It happened once more on a different day, and then I made it a habit to check the dryer every 30 minutes while it was going to make sure it would stop. Crazy.
