Hi, I'm not sure where to or which forum to bring this up to discuss, so I thought to go with General Talk and hope maybe someone can direct me where I should go. Around a couple years or so ago, don't quite remember when, I was on a forum called Hooty Owl on here and had brought up a story I was currently writing at the time, which was a fan fiction I was playing with and not anything I was thinking about publishing. Since the fan fiction story was a medieval/fantasy and had my OC Gummi Bear characters in it since its somewhat based on that old Disney cartoon that I love, the purpose of what I had been doing with it had gotten misunderstood and it turned into a debacle over copyright and trademark issues when in fact I was not trying to sell anything and may have been thinking of putting it on FF.net or AO3 at a later date.
On top of all that, they were pointing out more issues with it than my aunt had done when she saw it months prior, so I was taking notes on everything and have spent several months trying to rewrite it, even though I had cloned it into three or four different alt fan fictions now trying to figure out the proper starting point and what takes place in the beginning of it. And to quiet them about me being at risk of a DMCA Issue, I also have been changing my oc bear characters from Gummis to Gelfis instead as well to try to fix that.
Recently though, when I went to check back on the Hooty Owl forum to see if there are any other issues I had missed that still need fixing, I got a message saying that the forum itself had been deleted for some reason (though now its looking like there is a forum there now that is currently in Maintenance Mode showing the yellow hard hat). This now makes me wonder if that who past debacle has become a moot point and if and where I should reupload my writing on here again soon to try discussing it again, even though I feel like someone may have been misjudging me before getting to know me.
