How do I drive more traffic to my proboard?

If anyone knows of a way I can "boost" my forum or get more people to visit and post on it, please do tell. When I "advertised" this page on 2 other pages that were camera related I was scolded on one for driving traffic away from their page and banned on the other (dpreview.com). 

BTW, I really really like how my proboard works.  Everything I need to do is there and more.  It's really designed really really well!

I did have my Science page on FB, but after 20+ years of using it, it and my personal page was hacked and stolen, and FB would never recover it for me.  But this is a blessing in disguise, as I wasn't getting any interactions or posts, or even likes, on that Sci page and the one here at Proboards has already generated many times that even though just a little so far.

BTW, I love the proboards forum set up and how intuitive and interactive it is for me to use as an administrator and how easy and straight forward it is for my members to use.

One of the biggest drivers of traffic to my forums seem to be interacting with people on ProBoards Support. People are more likely to click on the links in your signature if they see your avatar a lot, become your friend, and know who you are. I do have a thread in the advertising section, but most people say they clicked on my signature. So, definitely keep your link in your signature and be active on ProBoards Support. I hope that see you positive growth on your forum.

Same here
My forum has 8 people in total, me and 7 others, I advertise my forum here but it's only effective to a certain extent
