My step dad had the start of elo's confusion as his ringtone. I can't listen to taht song now without the urge to tell him to answer his phone.

Good song, one of their better ones that still sounds good after more than 40 years. ELO was always one of favorite bands.

My ringtone is a long-lost piano intro to the Beach Boys' 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love'. This intro wasn't discovered until sometime in the 2000's, from some studio session recordings that someone had literally kept in a cardboard box for 40+ years.

Hmm, I actually don't know what that's supposed to be a metaphor for. Something about relationships, probably, but it still doesn't make any sense.
But then, lyrics to pop/rock music often don't make any sense, with the artists often just claiming "artistic license" and "you need to stop working for your car and figure it out yourself, man..."

Mine was an easy one, I was learning to play the drums and so RUSH naturally came into the purview.

and it is still ONE of my favorite songs today. It speaks of overcoming and the power of knowing when to stand and fight...
Makes me sad and happy at the same time. No other song has done that to this day.
