Just realized the other day that the last time I had cable TV was almost 20 yrs ago in college. I have free TV at home with rabbit ears. Just how weird am I? I find more fun with online streamers.

We used to have cable, but it was a waste of so many channels.
After my wife decided we should get Netflix and Prime, I called to cancel. I told them if they would let me pick channels a la carte, we would probably stay. They said they couldn't do that, so we cut that cord.

I don't have it. I'd never use it. I can't even keep up with streaming

I've never had cable and never plan to. I get all the channels I need with a basic antenna. Then again, the only thing I use my TV for is sports, and with football over, I'm not going to need my TV for a few months anyway.

I haven't had cable for ages. I also don't pay for a lot of streaming services, though; the model of every single company ever to exist splitting off and making their own service—thereby just recreating cable—made me feel pretty disillusioned and so I just stopped watching TV for the most part. Streaming and YouTube has taken over for me for a little, but overall I've got that much less screen time in my life.

I’m not a TV watcher and don’t gravitate to cable or any service anymore. That being said I do like to figure out how many free streaming apps and services there are and cobble things together for a pretty decent free experience.

I have Hulu disney+ and Max and watch DTV ($10 Amazon antenna that works well) for my local sports I pay about $5 per month for all 3. A friend let's my use his Max account. Hulu and Disney usually have black Friday deals for annual renewals that makes them about $5 per month. Back in the early 2000s cable companies forced $65 TV internet packages on you slow internet at the time. Now I get about 300Mbps down for $30 a month with Google fiber. More than enough for me. I refuse to pay price hikes for subscriptions. So no I don't miss cable TV in the slightest. If my internet ever goes out I have a few digital movies that keeps me occupied and so far haven't had a single outage that hasn't lasted more than a couple of hours. Plus invest in an android box there are little tweaks and packages you can get making your TV content even more enjoyable if you know you know.

Haven't had it for several years (At least) and only use streaming services and also watch some streamers on Twitch. The former of which I have to keep reminding friends and work collegues when it's "Oh have you watched so and so...", and I have to remind them yet again I don't watch regular telly or cable. I gave up back in the day because all those channels and there was only one or two that I liked or interested me.

Not weird at all. When I moved into my house, I found coax running the length of my attic from a splitter to my living room and bedroom. I installed an antenna up there to hook into the runs and haven't had cable for 5+ years now; I primarily use streaming. I think traditional cable has seen a big decline the past 10 years. Everyone I talk to in my age group does streaming instead.

Everyone I talk to in my age group does streaming instead. It's declining but those cable networks also own most streaming services. It's a good way they tricked us into thinking we aren't paying for cable anymore but actually are just through a different platform lol. The only benefit this decade is picking and choosing our own providers lol.
