Hi All!
So im a newbie. I have autism (which I declared), and during my training, someone suggested I may have ADHD. So I have had the initial assessment, so I am waiting for diagnosis.
My question is, what 'reasonable adjustments do people have? I understand its difficult to worknfrom a set desk and in a quiet area. I just wondered what you have been offered?

Typically Autism isn't that bad of a condition some are way more intelligent with it. You say which you declared, coming from a medical stand point managers would ask for medical records. You saying you have this diagnosis won't prove much. I'm assuming you may have seen a doctor already they may say something completely different, your living area may have completely different rules. You can ask for a copy of your official medical records some even have apps you can download it from. Just don't tell people you have a condition without proper evidence from medical staff.

Your first statement just isn’t correct. Autism is such a varied condition and some people function in mainstream society with little adjustment, and some people are non-verbal and unable to work at all. missbluebubble, really you’d be better off finding someone locally to ask, or a local forum, as any advice here may not relate to where you are or your employer. In the UK, I think a lot of this would have been sorted at interview or when offered the job, but if you’re in the US I’m assuming there would be variation by state and employer. It would also depend what adjustments you and your doctor think you’d need.
