I wondered if my answer would change over time, but it's still the PC for me. The game libraries are enormous, I like kbm but can also use a controller, and I'm at my PC for work often anyway so I don't even need to move. Second place is the Switch for when I want something a little more versatile and cozy.

Nostalgia answer is the Wii. I grew up with it as a teenager and back in the day with my friends I would play mario kart, smash and more on the weekends.I mostly payed on my Game Boy solo.
I currently have the Switch and really enjoy it.
But I also have a PC with steam.
I'll probably stick with Nintendo Wii though.

Probably the PS4. It edges out the PS5 simply because UI/UX is a big deal to me and I don't care for some of the menu changes Sony chose to make. The PS4 is also the last console I played heavily. My PS5 has accumulated more dust than playtime, because of life. Neither one is used much these days. I'll probably stick with Nintendo Wii though. I would expect nothing less and would be sorely disappointed in you if you didn't.

What's the difference between PS 4 and PS 5 they never explain it to me what is the difference The PS5 is a newer console, so it has better tech in it. It can render graphics better than the PS4, and it's got a SSD in it rather than a hard drive like the PS4 does. It plays games in UHD, making them look more realistic than ever. But to answer you original question, the Sega Genesis is still my favorite console of all time. It was the first video game console I ever played and owned and my favorite gaming franchise of all time originated on the console too!

What's the difference between PS 4 and PS 5 they never explain it to me what is the difference The PS5 is the next platform generation after the PS4, but it's mostly just a hardware upgrade. Truth be told, there aren't any special new features except maybe the SSD, it mostly just improves on what its predecessor did. Don't get me wrong, they're good improvements, but there's nothing too crazy going on. Better graphics, faster loading, more precise controls, a bunch of quality of life settings to tinker with, that sort of thing.

If we're talking retro ps1 as it was my first gaming device I have a small memory of the 8 year old me owning an atari system and then a nes. Young teenage me went for the original Xbox or it's what my guardians got me when I was younger about 13ish. Then I moved towards Xbox 360 as it was dominate for those that just couldn't afford ps3 as much as every kid wanted one if I had a ps3 it would probably be my favorite. I dont have much memory of owning a ps2 I did at some point. Then I moved to ps4 last Gen as my favorite hard to believe it was so long ago when it was already announced.
I do have a series s which was my in between console, untel the ps5 came out with the slim bundle and I decided to pick one up. The difference in cores and specs are minimal sure it has raw performance power you'd have to snoop through pixels, run fps counters and what not to even tell The difference is just a few seconds not even enough for a bathroom break to load a game between the two. Even compared to series x. I mainly went ps5 due to m.2 storage expandability. Microsoft and Xbox has always been so proprietary and up charing extra space it's stilly. I'm not spending $150 for 1tb when I can get a 2tb m.2 for around $150. With games getting up to 120gb per install you'll want the space unless you're fine with installing and reinstalling constantly. Both systems perform fine as always go with what your friends get.
But to end the console war rant, this generation my favorite gaming device has been the SteamDeck for portability sure it has its quricks but with Linux so much you can do out the box, along with my pc and the ps5.

Who's next about to post? I am! I'm not much of a gamer anymore, but the Nintendo 64 is my nostalgia console and the one I still play the most. It's still fun to pop in Super Mario 64 and just run around collecting stars. I actually played that game through 100% four or five times last year. The system also has old favorites like Paper Mario and Banjo-Kazooie, so it wins by having, well, three games that I still play on rare occasion. Otherwise, I own a GameCube and a Switch, but I rarely use either one these days. The GameCube gets used maybe once a year to do another run of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, while the Switch sits collecting dust in my desk drawer. I've also got a lot of love for the NES, but I sold mine years ago and don't really miss playing those games that much. I'll always have fond memories of playing SMB3, Battletoads, StarTropics, etc., but the thought of picking up those games and playing them today has virtually no appeal to me.

PC! Got my first gaming PC in 2018 and was pretty much hooked. I was exclusively Xbox and CoD fanboy before that, and still play plenty of CoD (on PC tho), but have reeeeally expanded now that I have a really nice PC and monitor. I suck at most video games lol but idc cause they are fun. My Xbox is in my bedroom and only gets turned on if I want to stream something from bed.
Last Playstation I owned was a PS2 (still have it somewhere, it still works too)
