I've noticed this getting worse in the past few months. The link in the above example looks like this:
I tried it without the u tags and I tried both http and https by editing the link. The hyperlink I pasted above is being made by the icon that looks like a globe with a sheet of paper in front of it.
I live in the Philippines.
I see something like "redirect" and then the final version of the URL which gets a "Server Not Found" error is this:
It seems that lijit.com is some sort of ad server, whatever that means. Can someone see if the link is working for them? I have no idea why my links stopped working consistently a while back. My forum is about genealogy.

Hello,
This link is working fine for me, both here on Support and on your forum.
Are you using any sort of ad-blocker?

Does the problem persist for you in another browser?

The link in my post above sometimes works but the one in the forum doesn't. What is this ligit.com and why is it interfering? I didn't put up a link to ligit.com. I'm using Firefox. I just tried it in Chrome and that isn't connecting either.
Possibly there is some anti-Philippines sentiment at ligit.com? I'm only guessing, because I have been blocked from joining forums (not Proboards forums) in the past due to my location only.

luthang - just jumping to say this isn't any type of "anti-Philippines sentiment" from us. More often then not, it's the country or the service provider that is the issue. Some service providers impose their own "software" that looks for and blocks anything seems that amiss (malware, viruses, etc.) I'm not saying this is exactly the case here, but if you are not using an adblocker (which typically causes the issue you are having), and you cannot isolate it to a specific browser, then the next logical thing to look at is the service provider.

Are you saying that the interference from ligit.com is coming from my ISP and not from the forum?

luthang - no, lijit.com is a valid ad serving service that is used (among others) to supply ads to the forum. There should be no "interference" as you say, unless something like an ad-blocker is being used - because that adblock technology can be disruptive. We have changed nothing on our end for quite some time now. So if this is an issue that started somewhat recently and is getting worse, then it tends to point elsewhere. Do you have another internet source to use and compare if the issue persists?

No other internet for me, but if it's working for everybody but me, it could be worse. No one has complained to me so maybe it's on my end. I don't have any ad-blockers because I know they can disrupt the forum so I don't use them.

Things like noscript or other browser add-ons can also cause the same effect as ad-blockers sometimes.

My only extensions in Firefox are Brave Search and Dark Reader. I tried turning them off and it didn't change anything.
When I first click the link in the forum, the tab that opens says redirect.viglink.com at first, then it changes to ligit.com

luthang - do you have access to a VPN you can use to see if the issue continues?

No. I tried to find it with Startpage.com but it can't find the forum page.

I reloaded the forum page and tried in in Chrome and Firefox. It worked one out of two tries in Chrome and zero out of two tries in Firefox.
