Changing the thread folder icon

Hi All
This is my first post so be gentle with me  having made my website last week . How can l change the folder icon on each thread my sites dedicated to all things creepy crawly insects etc and l want to put pics on individual species by replacing the folder icon..
So is there anyway l can do that l have tried and l end up with the same pic for all threads..
Im 63 by the way so lm not used to doing this kind of thing its just guess work ..

Hello! By default and design, those folder icons (called "on/off" icons) are meant to all be the same as they are meant to indicate when there is new content in the board they are next to (so you'll have one for no new content, and one for new content).

If you want to have a different icon for every board, you'll need to use this plugin instead;

Please note this plugins only affects the on/off icons, and no other icons on the forum. Please feel free to tag me if you need help installing the plugin or navigating through the options :)

So basically, you'll need to install the plugin to your forum. For simplicity, follow these steps below (there is another way to do it that is easier # of steps wise, but may be more daunting; let me know if you want that one too).

1. Click on the link in my first reply to see the plugin in the plugin library.

2. Somewhere on that page, there is a button that says "Download"; click that, and you'll be prompted to save it. IMPORTANT: Do not open this file! It is a .pbp file, so it can only be opened by the ProBoards software. If you open it, all you see is a bunch of gibberish text.

3. Once it's downloaded, head to your forum. Go into the admin panel, and in the top right of your screen you should see a horizontal menu. The fourth option says "Plugins".

4. Hover over that to reveal a sub menu with additional options. Select "Manage."

5. This will take you to the page that shows what plugins you have installed on the forum. If you've never installed a plugin before, this should be empty. Above the area for the list should have a few buttons in the top left; you want the third button that says "Import".

6. This will open up a dialog box that will allow you to upload a file. Upload the .pbp file you downloaded in Step 2, which installs the plugin onto your forum.

7. Once it's installed, you should be directed to the plugin's settings. This would be where you paste your image links and set which boards you want to apply which images to. Once you've got it sorted, don't forget to click "Save"!

(Note: This plugin requires you to upload your images to a host first. You can also upload to your theme in Admin > Theme Manager > Images (Hover over the theme to reveal this button), then copy the LINK for each.)

Sorry l got to no6 and all it says its a empty folder nothing to download

For clarity, you should be uploading in step 6, not downloading.

Did you download the .pbp file from step 2 and save it to your computer? If you did, then when you get to step 6, it will ask you to upload a file; when you click "browse", navigate to wherever you saved the .pbp (if you didn't customise this, it should be the "downloads" folder on your machine) and select the .pbp file to upload.
