Hi all. I have been a member for some years (just celebrated 20) and am getting up in age (now 74) and am worried that should something happen to me and/or something happens to ProBoards (God forbid) all the post that have been made over the last 20 years would be lost. I am writing to inquire if it is possible to download all the threads I have. Now I think I asked quite a few years ago and I was told that I would need clearance from each of the posters. The problem I now have is that many (if not all) of the posters have moved on and many I am sure have passed away. No one posts anymore (except illicit spam) but I still average from 60 to 90 visitors per day. I really don't want to lose 20 years of my research and thoughts and I have tried to save them in other ways such as PDF etc but that of course is not the same. There are Total Posts: 11,291 so far and to try to save them myself would be way too time consuming. So my questions is can I download my Forum in a nice neat package ? I would even be willing to pay what you people think it is worth. If not is there any easy easy to save the threads ?
Thank you in advance Ahatmose

Your forum cannot be downloaded in a working or non-working fashion. If you are worried about your death, you can set up a forum succession agreement. It would be like a will for your forum. You can decide who inherits it, if anyone, and what should happen to the forum upon your death. As of right now, ProBoards is not under any risk of going bankrupt. However, if ProBoards does go bankrupt, there is currently no way to move our forums to another service. Would setting up a succession agreement be something you are interested in? I was pretty specific in what I wrote, but the final decision I came to for myself was that my forum would die with me or when ProBoards ceases to exist, whichever comes first. If you'd like someone else to inherit the forum and for them to maintain it after your death, you can set up a succession agreement. However, they would be free to maintain it however they choose when you pass and they may have to agree to take over in advance. I'm not entirely sure. support.proboards.com/thread/668222/forum-admin-account-succession

ahatmose - There is not a way to download the contents of the forum, sorry. And I should mention that actually it is a violation of our terms of service, especially since you do not own the content on the forum. However, you can download all of your posts and PMs from the forum. You do this by logging in to your dashboard (https://proboards.com) with your email address and password. Then from blue Account button at the top of the page click and select Account Settings. Next find Export Member Data and at the far right click the Export link. Use the dropdown selectors to choose the forum and then the forum account (by username). Then click Submit. Once the data is compiled you can return to this same location and a new link will be available: "Click to show recently exported data." Clicking this reveals a link to the zip file containing the Posts/PMs. Note, that the data will not be formatted like you see on the forum. It's in a .csv format which can be opened by any spreadsheet program or csv viewer. Please let me know if you have any questions.
