My favorite was not because of the singer/band, but because of the memory. My mom absolutely loved the Oak Ridge Boys, so I secretly bought tickets and simply told her the date I was taking her somewhere and to wear something nice. As we drove down the Las Vegas strip, she kept trying to guess, until finally we pulled into the parking lot of a hotel/casino and she saw the huge sign advertising their contest. "THE OAKS," she shouted. She couldn't stop smiling. As we entered the theatre, I palmed the maître d some money and he quickly escorted us...to the front row, mid stage!! My mom's jaw just about dropped to the floor. The band was right in front of her and she had the time of her life. Now that she's gone, it's one of my favorite memories with her.
My next favorite was a Kenny Loggins concert that was held outside and it was pouring rain. The band was underneath cover, but the audience was completely exposed. I had just finished my last class at the university and one of the janitors saw me running through the rain. He gave me an absolutely HUGE trash bag to cover myself with and I took it to the concert. It was so large that me and my boyfriend both fit inside of it and we cut eyeholes so we could see the concert. We were completely dry and warm. I can imagine what a sight we were, but we didn't care.
How about you? Have you had any concert adventures?

I went to see The Who & Small Faces live at Festival Hall, Melbourne, in Australia many moons ago and the highlight of that was seeing Peter Townsend from the Who smashing his guitar up at the end of the gig which he always did in them days.
I had managed to get a ticket right in the front row of seats and thought to myself I will make sure I get a bit of his guitar when he tosses the bits around........WRONG.......
At the end I was sitting all ready to grab some bits but a load of females sitting behind me knocked me flying and I got trampled on and never saw one bit of his guitar.

While Ed Sheeran did his stadium tour last year, he did a special tour parallel that was all small intimate venues, but you could only get tickets by lottery. I won the lottery for his Boston date and got to see him front row for my section in a 3500 seat room. Absolutely amazing show, the guy is stupidly talented and loves what he does. I'm not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan, but it was definitely one of the most memorable concert experiences I've had.

Definitely my first solo stadium concert, not only for my favourite band at the time (Muse) but they were the first band ever to play there and I was 17 and a young, inspired musician from the day. Will live forever as one of my best days.

Showing my age here. My brother and I wanted to take our girlfriends to a concert in downtown San Diego in the spring of 1971. It was Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and Bill Cosby when he was at his height in stand-up comedy. We had to drive across the bridge to San Diego to get the tickets at the box office. This was a last minute decision and we were hoping against hope, but we had to try, that they might have 4 tickets available, even though they would likely be in the nose bleed balcony. Wrong.
When we asked about the tickets, the lady told us that someone has just canceled their tickets. It would cost us a bit more, but would we be interested in center stage, 4 rows back? Um, YEAH! Needless to say, our girlfriends thought we were all that and a bag of chips, and the concert was outstanding. A trip to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor for some of the best ice cream that ever was, and the night was one we'd never forget.

Most of my concert experiences have been pretty normal. One of the more interesting ones was getting to be at the front of the stage for a Green Day concert in Vegas, it was a blast.
I think the most memorable one for me has to deal with the circumstances surrounding the band, though. When I was much younger my parents took us all to go see The Righteous Brothers in Laughlin. I'd grown up listening to their music because of my parents and so getting to see them live was an absolute treat. And it turns out it was a good thing we did, because Bobby Hatfield ended up passing away not too long after. I'm really glad we got to go for that.
