I remember when I was younger that I enjoyed doing things outside quite a bit. Though my willingness to do certain activities that involve high levels of energy has dwindled, due to getting aggressive arthritis in 6th grade.

Well you know where I'll land on this it's a 50/50 shot. Think about the good and bad of technology and if the old days were really all that better. It's true that most if not all of us are less social and we turn to sites like this to be more social.
Liability due to cameras being everywhere has gone up this decade due to cities getting tired of paying lawsuits. You can even find love if communication goes right. That's an entire slippery slope that's hard to get involved in. You can save $2 on a bag of cheetos and have them at your door step in two days, or even find a out of stock car part you may need. Social media helps you get back in touch easier with friends who have moved cross country or the world. Of course instant up to date news. There is also a higher risk for digital bank fraud but at least it's tracked easier now days.
I'm not saying it's great but I see the the advantages over the disadvantages to where I can't say it's all that bad.

We used to play "ice hockey" on a car park with a tennis ball and roller blades, we also had hockey sticks.
We also played with marbles and whoever hit the hole won all the marbles
we also used to play football
we also played indianer and cowboys with toy guns etc etc.....

I was born a few days into the 1990's and while there were definitely plenty of screens in my childhood... they didn't rule us. Yes, I miss those days when we weren't glued to devices as much, though can't imagine how that must feel now to someone who came before them. But that's the brainwashing, seductive power of screens... it's hard to imagine life without them now too.
Football in the park... hide and seek style games in shopping centers... writing letters or notes for friends or crushes... ahhh.

Another game we played was 'Off Ground Ginger', the game consisted of touching someone whose feet were on the ground and making sure your feet were off the ground like standing on a log or whatever, this involved a lot of running around.

Part of a larger comic I can't share because some of the panels are too NSFW for this forum, but this discussion made me think of it

Football outside, no clubs just meet up with your pals at the local park or the street you lived in, no football boots and a football that had the tongue bulging out and stitching broken, jumpers for goalposts.
