Hey GT. How's it going? Time is strange. Sometimes minutes feel like they take hours, other times we notice a whole summer goes by in the blink of an eye. For me, these past ten years have been surreal. You see, ten year ago I announced my return to GT. I had just spent two years living in Texas as a Mormon / lds missionary. You know the guys in white shirts and ties with black name tags? Or the women typically in dresses and black name tags? I was one of them. Things were different back then. It was a really big deal to me at the time, spending two years off the internet, void of social media and pop culture. I wasn't allowed to catch up on local, nation and worldwide news. I wasn't allowed to study politics, attend school, or even hold a job. As a Mormon missionary my only purpose was to spend each day trying to find people on the streets and in their homes to teach about my religious beliefs, at the time. Those two years went by so slow, at least back then. Two years later and I returned to the world. I was excited to be part of GT again, but I also had changed. I was no longer the young teen with strong but uninformed opinions on a variety of subjects. I had grown up. For being in my 20s at least. I was still young and inexperienced, but in different ways. I didn't know what life ahead would be like, but I was excited to learn and grow. Since 2014, so much has happened. Everyone of you has a different story to tell. And I think that's beautiful. Here I am, ten years later. I am in my 30s now. I have a family. I am a mom. I have held many jobs, gone to college and experienced a lot of life so far. I have learned and grown. But I know I have much to come. I hope for a bright future, filled with further wisdom. I hope to stay semi active on GT, perhaps one day my own children can discover the joy of this message forum and say hello. Only time will tell. Here's to another ten years. How has your decade been? What's happened for you? What do you anticipate your next decade will look like? Take care, GT.

I wish I was a better member in the past than I was and kept my 2006 account I've been surfing this site as long as it took someone to be a adult nearly. 18 years.

I will have been a member here for 10 years next April, which started as just a general inquiry about something I have been posting here since.

My account is almost 20 years old It's crazy how Message boards/forums do not much exist anymore outside of Reddit/Discord. I check-in here every now and then, always very happy when I see it is still up and live.

Congrats, Robyn and everyone else (especially Matthew as you've been here as long as I have). I just checked my profile, ran it against a date difference online, and it says I've been a member for 20 years, 4 months, and some change. Wow! Before that I was a lurker on PB before I could officially join and after that, I was hooked (back when it was PB v2 I think). I've seen a lot of change and growth, both good and bad, come and go here in the forum realm. Had my seasons as an admin, gmod, or mod on dozens of forums, but all of that faded away into the ether with time. As with many others, I was disheartened to hear that VerticalScope nipped V6 after we'd all waited for so long for it. So my mind will harken back to just the general "olden days" of forum'ing when it was good and fun and tons of memories were made. Until the next 5- or 10-year check-in. Andrew

It’s been a very long time, 10 years, and you can learn a lot about yourself. 10 years ago, I didn’t know what I wanted. 20 years ago, I didn’t know what I want. Do I know what I want now? No. I just want to live life, and the goal is to live the next year, and the next year after that, and so on.
But 10 years. Met the love of my life a year before that. Been together Now for 11 years and 3 months.
YouTube/streaming still my job. Live comfortably enough, that I’m happy to have kept going at it.
Otherwise, I’ve made a short horror film in 2019. Gone to many concerts, and love live music! To even producing my own music!
I’ve learned a lot, and have done a lot in 10 years. I left and deleted my OG account (for many reasons, and mental health reasons as well)
Life has definitely changed a lot, and for the better!
As we text often, and as I’ve said many times, I am still proud of you Robyn! For all the things you’ve pushed yourself to do, to accomplish everything you sought out, and to be who you truly are meant to be!
We’ve been friends for, at least nearly 20 years now. It’s crazy! And it’s all thanks to ProBoards GT!

If it makes you feel any better, I've apparently been here 20 years, which just makes me feel old. So old in fact that in the US my account can legally vote.

It's been over 20 years for me. However, the vast majority of my posts come from my first couple of years here. There's only a handful of people I even recognize here anymore.

I found an old post of mine I posted when I had been in here a couple of months I think, weird reading back on that and knowing I am still here years later.

View AttachmentI would dig up one of my old posts from 2003 or 2004, but there was a purge many years back. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, because most of my posts back then were, to be blunt, terrible, and were usually no more than a few words long.

The purges are for the best. You don't want to relive it, it's pure cringe I promise. 20 years brings a lot of change. Speaking of though, it's been I think 21 years since my first account here (20 on this one). Time flies. Even if many of old posts may be cringe-worthy. What was the name your first account anyway?
