Thread Icons Plugin Issue with GUESTS

After a couple days ProBoards log me out of my forum and I have to login again. I got used to it already.
However, when I tried to see one of my boards, I noticed an unexpected behavior of a plugin.

Turns out, if I'm not logged in, the "Thread Icons" won't let me see the "custom icons" each thread has, meaning, instead of

I actually see, THIS:



Which beats the purpose of setting the icons in there anyway, as I don't expect everyone that enters the server to actually log in.

I found out if I change this particular setting: 



... then guests can see the icons (I checked in a private tab). Is there any way to make so guests can SEE thread icons, without giving them the ability to SET thread icons?

Guests can only set an icon if they have the ability to create a thread on that board. Without that essential forum permission, that setting only allows VIEW icons.

But that's precisely what I want. I want guests to VIEW custom icons I or any member of the forum sets to threads.
However, without the permission to SET an icon, they can only see the default boring samey icon applied to all threads, instead of the custom ones.

In case that wasn't clear in the original post: I want guests to view CUSTOM THREAD ICONS, without giving them any extra permission. That is all.

And that is precisely what I said above.

By only checking the option in the plugin, guests can SEE the icons (not set them).
If you want guests also to SET icons then you would need to give them the ability to create threads through the forum settings while the option in the plugin remains enabled (it takes two criteria for a guest to be able to set an icon)
