Firefox wont open

One problem after another one...this time its my firefox which dorsnt open, I have reinstalled firefox but to no avail  and I need Firefox because there I have got all my bookmarks 

anyone know a solution? Thanks

Can you clarify what you mean by "won't open?" What, specifically, is happening when you try?

Does absolutely nothing happen?

Is there an error message of some kind?

Does it start to open and then crash?

the browser wont open....so i deleted the old firefox which gave me some note (cant remember what message it was.anyway  i  installed a new version anf now furefox doesnt do anything and no its not starting at all

ukschalke - This is a solution I found online:


Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.


Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.

It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

You do not need to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

Excellent Scott , thanks your suggestion worked however i have lost all my bookmarks...ah well at least it works again

ukschalke - I'm really glad it worked, but sorry about your bookmarks I thought the "don't remove personal data when uninstalling" would have preserved them.
