Ok, somewhat complex request - for me at least, it may be easy for some of you more competent coders.
So in essence I want to turn my forums into a teaser display website of sorts. For that I'd need empty space to add images into the header which would be the current teasers, and they'd show large and highlighted in the page.
Then under it, there'd be just a single board to store / archive the past teasers. The navigation bar would be at the very bottom, to be out of the way and not distract from the teaser.
I have no idea how to do any of this, and so I'm hoping to find anyone who'd be interested in giving it a go. I think it's against the rules to offer any sort of reward for the help, so my hands are a bit tied here. I can only hope to find someone who knows something similar already, or willing to lend a hand out of kindness.
Many thanks in advance, regardless of whether I receive help or not.

There are several ways of doing this.. You can indeed do it with coding in the Headers/Footers, or it can be done by editing the template/layout, or it can be done with a plugin. The Headers/Footer way would be the more complex way, as you'd need to edit line(s) of coding each time you change the image/info. A template edit would be the better way, especially for moving elements around, like moving the navigation bar to the bottom of the forum etc. A plugin can also achieve it, and would be the easiest for you to edit, depending on what you wanted to include with each teaser.. The BEST way, for you, would be to combine an edited template with a plugin plugin for you to change the info.. If you go for the template, you will need to make a request in the Templates board.

Thank you for your kind and helpful response, I ended up using a plugin similar to the effect I wanted, and worked just wonderfully. This topic can be closed.
