What size in pixels is ideal for the forum icon? I want to replace the default image, as it's quite plain with my own design.

If you're referring to the icon that shows in the browser tab when visiting your forum, it'll need to be 16x16 and in *.ico format. If you go to your admin panel (Admin > Settings > Forum Settings), you should see a section called Favicon at the bottom. It gives you all the information as well as a link to an online generator that you can use to convert a JPG or PNG to ICO format.

Then you're going to need to be more specific. What icon are you referring to? Can you attach an image that shows the icon you're referring to?

Lynx It's the icons to the left of the forum that denote the various sections.

If ghost2 has the correct images that you're referring to in their post above, then those are 32px x 32px icons (according to what I saw upon inspection).
