Hi, My mods asked me if i could look into the following: Is there a code that makes a 'Mark thread read' button in every thread for the admins and mods? So not only on the board, where alraedy a 'Mark as read' button is. So when the mods have come to the end of a page, they can press the 'Mark Thread Read' button-thingy and the thread will be marked read. And is there a code that can display an image next to the 'quote' 'modify' 'delete' images if a post is already read (a mod pressed the 'Mark Thread Read' button, and from that point the other mods/admins will see the picture next to 'quote' 'modify' 'delete' which shows them that particular post is already read.) Ooh, my story doesn't make any sense, does it? A big hug to the coder that is willing to spend some time to silly me. *hug*

When a thread is viewed, it is marked as read. There wouldn't be a point to adding a mark as read button inside the thread, because if you're inside it, it's already marked as read.

Yes, but that goes for every single account of the staff, so mod1 can't see if mod2 has already checked a thread, but can only see it for the threads he viewed himself, is it not? Is there any other way the staff members can see which thread is already checked by their co-mods?

Is there any other way the staff members can see which thread is already checked by their co-mods? This would likely be forbidden by Patrick as it's a violation of privacy. What the moderators view is their own business, and not the business of anybody else. So long they do their job then you shouldn't have a problem anyways.

well, i don't mean it as to check what my mods view. trust me, the last thing i'm interested in is to check precisely which threads are viewed by my mods and keeping track of their actions. it's to make their task easier, if they can see which posts are already read by their co-mod, so they don't have to read all updated threads themselves. Saves time. ;D

I dont think it would be possible without it being part of the forum source coding. Perhaps post this idea in the suggestions board when it reopens.
There are a couple of ways to get around:
You could create one central account to which all the mods know the password and they can then use this to read and moderate posts and their other accounts to post etc. This way the central account will show up that a thread is read even if only one mod has read it. I dont know if several users sharing the same account is allowed though.
Another solution would be for whenever a mod reads a thread they could edit the title to say that it has been read. The original thread starter could also edit this though so not ideal.
