I was wondering, who likes busy tags? and explain why or why not?
Well I like busy tags, because there's more effects but I don't like cramped tags, like someone trying to cramp like 5 images into one.
As long as the effects are overall amazing on the tag, I like the busy tag.

Hmm, you bring up a good point. Busy vs. Crammed. I like busy, if it's done right. Like, even if still busy the colors, images, lighting, etc. still have to flow together. If they don't, I think that's when it becomes crammed Try to make it look like you're not trying to squeeze another image in there, make it look like it fits in =D

Yea, I brought this up because I've seen a lot of comments towards peoples tags as 'too busy' but I never really knew what they meant, crammed or just too many effects. So I thought I'd make a topic about it. And I agree with you Smangii, had to have some flow in it.

True, it also matters on personal preference though =P Some people like the lots-o-effects look (like yourself) and some prefer the cleaner, simple, look. I also have this trouble when making skins, whether to keep it simple or go all-out on head/base images and other icons. Just depends on what people like

Yeah, I like both simple and busy but if it's simple it as to have a certain touch of something in order for me to like the simplicity of it.

Yes, I enjoy them much more. They are more to look at. As well as they are harder to make in some ways.
Imho.

My explanation of busy would be : Too many effects it draws away from your main focus point.
Cramped would be too many images or too many effects it doesn't look good.

Yeah, I usually look in the graphics request but I see the ones requesting 5 or 6 images in one so I don't do it because I don't like cramped tags or banners.

I think busy sigs work well as long as you make the main focal either brighter or darker than the background effects and you blur the background out a bit. I do like to keep it reasonably simple-ish though with my tags so I don't put 100s of effect layers on although I tend to have quite a few subtle ones like c4ds on 10% opacity or lower.

Business has it's own beauty, so does simplicity. What matters most is how it good looks and how unique it is. Other factors doesn't really matter that much. It's true that crampy works might not look good in some cases, but with the right effort, it can be a masterpiece. Although, as far as I've seen, busy images are almost always the better ones.
