I don't see my designing ever being more than anything but a hobby. To be a graphic designer -- as in the profession -- you need to be proficient with digital painting, vector, manipulation and a variety of other mediums in order to succeed (and you have to be pretty good at them too). As a professional graphics designer, your meal ticket relies on your client being happy with what you produce, which means that you have to follow their instructions to the very last letter or else they might not use you again. That means business down the toilet and no more meal tickets.
But yea, I do art time to time away from the computer. I like to draw and just generally be silly with paint and watercolours. My mother and my brother are quite talented traditional artists, but I think that skipped me because my co-ordination with a pen, pencil and so isn't very flash.

=P Yeah, I got Graphics Designer and stuff on this careers test thing but I dunno if I actually want to be one. I like to do things my way.

I doodle in class when I'm really bored. That's as far as I go when we're talking traditional art. =P
But if we're talking about community projects, school newspaper, etc. I've done work for those as well along with a few templates for small amounts of money. Mostly everything I do is digital though.

Dude, no, I'm terrible.
When I'm bored I sketch abstract 3d shapes. =P My friend used to be sweet at drawing cartoons and I would always be jealous because mine looked terrible. So I suck.

It seems to be inconsistent; you'd expect good graphics designers to be good artists off the computer, but it's not always the case, although it sometimes is. It's just one of those things.
