I followed a tutorial and made my first userbar today: But I need advice on how to make the scanlines look better. I use the Gimp aso to put them in I make a new layer, choose bucket fill and on fill type I choose pattern (I have created a scanline pattern). But as you can notice, the tiling of the pattern is far to obvious, the lines don't look like they are continuos. How can I make them look better? Thank you

I suspect you've probably not made the pattern perfectly so that it tiles well. The trick is is to imagine the pattern being repeated and try and work out where each line needs to go to get it perfect. The simplist way to do diagojnal ones though is a 2x2 document and top righ and bottom left pixels filled.

Thanks dude I've tried out with more patterns and finally found one that tiles well. (I would have posted the result but GIMP crashed while making the new ub).
