a Shot in the Dark

Ok...I am totally going at a shot in the dark here. I am going to attempt to make an almost all image web layout. Now I have done some with gradients and what not but this is going to be hard.... any suggestions?

Try drawing a concept with pen(cil) and paper first. Also, try making the images not all on one canvas. Make them in separate canvas and then combine them on one big one.
