I quite like this, but I'm not sure. The monotone effect actually works quite well with the water effect in the background. You could possibly try a subtle gradient - may work.

There's a definite flow, but the black to the right of the stock takes away from it a little. Try to add the water to it, perhaps?

The text works well with this, just emphasise your name a little more.

I think this could possibly do with a border along the top, well, try it out, I may be wrong (as I often am )
