Okay, I really don't know what it's called so I'll do my best. You know how (at least in IE) when you hover over a link, you get a URL in the bottom left corner of the browser beside the IE logo. Well, I've seen some boards/sites where people have managed to put a message there that shows up instead of/on top of the URLs. Does anyone know how to do that?

It's probably a mouseover javascript effect. You can find samples of mouseovers on many coding sites.

Maybe, but mouseover to me implies that it's only there when you mouse over a link. What I'm looking for is text that loads there while the page is loading and stays there.

window.status = "Your message here";
//--> </script>
Replace the text with what you want (keep the quotes). Headers or Footers (either or).
