UPDATE:
We have gone ahead and disabled every single ad network except for Google. This should completely stop this from being a problem. We are taking all the reports that we have and working with the other ad networks to find out where this is coming from before we re-enable other networks.
Patrick
If you have a problem with an anti-virus message coming up on your screen when viewing a forum, please immediately hit CTRL+ALT+R on your keyboard which will pop up our reporting tool. Fill out the form and hit submit. You have to do this on the page that caused your anti-virus program to give you a warning.
We are tracking down the ad network responsible and having them removed from our ad rotation. Thank you for your help in submitting reports.

Made my two reports this morning (from the offending source page). Hope they helped. I think this method is great. Thanks for making it available.

We've already forwarded on the ad code from your complaint Greg - thanks for your help with that, hopefully we can identify the perpetrator from that. Keep sending in your reports guys, and if you have a screen shot of the ad at the top of the page that can also help us significantly.

Depending on what your browser does it may or may not be a cached page when you go back, but it can't hurt in terms of hoping it's cached and maybe being able to identify the problem ad.

I just reported a former site of mine (had to move because of the popup ads). It had been going on for over a year. I didn't think to make mention of it last year, but maybe there's a reason for it. Not really sure.

Not really sure. If you have gotten popup ads for over a year now, then I would recommend running a virus scan on your computer. It is highly unlikely that this is related to ProBoards.

if i may, pat, the site appears to have a cbox. =] iirc, cbox is the cause of the popup ads.

I just ran a virus scan before I logged on!! Did the control, alt + R and nothing happened (but, my antivirus and my firewall both ended the session). Okay...I'm from Mars (in other words, I don't know "codes)...where is the CBox code located so I can remove it?

These things are always Greek to me. Thanks for investigating this Patrick and everyone. I don't have a problem but one of my moderators does. We are watchtalkworld. Below are his two posts in the admin forum about his troubles -
December 4 12.30pm EST
don't know what's going on but everytime I sign on I get an alert from my virus protection saying there's a danger. a little while ago I came back in and there was a virus and trojan scan going (on WTW tab) saying my computer was infected with 157 trojans and 38 worms. I killed that tab because my computer was locked onto that scan and couldn't quit it. some very agressive program there, my virus scan said it attached 6 trojans on my computer over the last 2 days.
Dec 4 11.56pm EST
this is still happening. a virus detection software just takes over my computer and locks it up. when I can gain some kind of control all I can do is close the TAB that I have open for WTW.
a moment ago it locked my entire computer up and then closed my browser when I refused to buy the software.
now when I sign on the WTW my virus software says the site contains a virus and is not safe.
Any help gratefully appreciated. I have copied the report function to him.
Enjoy your weekend
Weenson
