Knockstar + Nave for example I think that if you're going to have an online relationship it has to co-incide (sp) with your offline life. For instance, my girlfriend isn't in town all the time so we talk on the Internet quite a bit but also talk on the phone a lot as well and will occassionally go out somewhere. Now the tricky thing is the whole trust factor, especially if the relationship is long distanced. Thankfully mine isn't long distance.

I believe that in a way it could be better than meeting someone in person. but at the same time it could be disasterous. If you talk to someone everyday and they are completely themselves and don't put up some internet facade then you get to know the real person without making any superficial descisions about them. But most of the time people are different on the internet to some extent so that doesn't always work. Also, the other person could always end up being some murdering-molesting-poop sniffing-phsyco....

Any thoughts on it? I personally think its silly to feel affection for people on a machine. Thats just me of course. With being able to pass pictures, talk on msn and use a webcam it can be quite succesfull. I know two people that met online and got married and 3 others that got together, one of these even moving countries to be with the person they met.
Its got its pitfulls but so has dating agencies.

I don't think meeting people off of the internet isn't necessarily bad (provided it's safe), but I don't think it makes very much sense to be in any sort of relationship more than a friendship until you've met... I also think teens should avoid it.. but hey.

Online Relationships are dumb in my opinion, you gotta be 100% sure about the person before meeting them in real life. Since you never know if it is them or some 40 year old guy who just wants to abduct you. I don't know one person who ever had a successful online relationship, since some people can act way different online then in real life .

No, they're dumb. Although, my mother did try it. Got a free trip to New York and Australia.

its fine. I have no problem with them..as long as you know the person. I've met quite a few girls online, none that i've been in a relationshpi with though, that I talk on the phone w/..talk on here w/...webcam..that good stuff. I know who they are..they know who I am.
But..I think its hard to have anything more htan a friendship over the net...unless you meet in real life.

I think they can work, you can still talk on the phone and swap pictures and webcams like what Beast said...however I think they're a bit pointless if you never actually meet the person.

I mean..what do you do in an online relationship..for..lets say a date? Both pop in a DVD at the same time?

In my opinion, you can feel for someone online the same way you feel for someone you know. Though it does seem silly to date online and whatnot, but you can still like/love someone even online.
