terristorms.proboards52.comI added a new chatbox to our board. I put the code in the global footer because I want the chatbox to show on the bottom of all the pages on our board except the Login page. As you can see, it is on the bottom of our Login page, and I'd like to remove it. Is there something I can add that will prevent it from showing there? Here's the code for the chatbox I am using. <embed src="http://www.xatech.com/web_gear/chat/chat.swf" quality="high" width="540" height="405" name="chat" FlashVars="id=32370091" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://xat.com/update_flash.shtml" /><br><small><a target="_BLANK" href="http://xat.com/web_gear/?cb">Get your own Chat Box!</a> <a target="_BLANK" href="http://xat.com/web_gear/chat/go_large.php?id=32370091">Go Large!</a></small><br>

Hi, You could remove that code from you Global Footers And put the code at the botton of each board footer you want the chat box to appear - That way it will only show on each board you wish the chat box to appear - and wont show on the main page.. Steve

Good idea! I will try putting it on the main header of each board and see what happens. I still want it to appear on the main page though..is there any way to do that? Edit: Ok..I tried putting it on each individual board footer, but the chatbox doesn't show when you click on any of the links..only when you view the outside of the boards. I want the chatbox to appear on the bottom of every page..including when you are posting on a thread. I just don't want it to appear on the login page.

Use this code:
<div id="chatbox">
put chatbox code here
</div>
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- if (location.href.match(/=login$/)) document.getElementById('chatbox').style.display="none"; // --> </script>

Well maybe I spoke too soon! I put the code in my global footer and added the chatbox code like you indicated, but the chatbox is still shows on the login page. I tried moving the code to the top of my global footer to see if that would solve the problem, but it didn't. That darned chatbox is still there on the login page.. Sorry about that!

I changed it because it didn't work the way it was originally, but I will change it back.
Edit: Ok..I changed it back and I think it's exactly the way you gave it to me now..but it still isn't working. Could it be the <p align="center"> code that I added to the chatbox that's causing the problem?

No..that's not it because I took it out and the chatbox still was on the login page..only it wasn't centered. Anyway, I went ahead and add the chatcode to the headers of every other board except the main board. That was the only way I could figure out how to get it off the login page. But hopefully, eventually, I'll be able to put our new chat box on the main page without having it show on the login page.

It will work that way, for what you asked for. However, i believe you asked for the wrong thing. You have the guests muist login enabled, which means the login box shows up on every page for guests. Basically you don't want the chatbox showing to guests?

Basically you don't want the chatbox showing to guests? Actually, I don't want any guests, period. I put the code in the top of the global footer exactly the way you suggested. I also changed the settings like you said so that guests are now able to access the front page. But the chatbox is still showing on the login page. Is there something I am doing wrong Also, I just wanted to add that our board is a private family board, and most of the members do not want guests to have access to the front page or any other page on our board.

That's what i said, isn't it? Basically you don't want the chatbox showing to guests? The chatbox doesn't show on th login page, if you are on the login page... terristorms.proboards52.com/?action=login - see Change the code to this one: <div id="chatbox" style="display: none;">
put chatbox code here
</div>
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- if (pb_username != "Guest") document.getElementById('chatbox').style.display=""; // --> </script>

I tried the new code and it worked! I changed the board back so that the front page no longer shows when you go to our main address. I guess I didn't realize that the "login page" and the "main address page" are not the same! You learn something new everyday, right? Thanks again for your help and for being so patient with me!.
